In a move to solidify its presence in India, Ashland Inc. said it plans to acquire a site in an area between New Delhi and Mumbai.
The company said in a news release that it expects to complete the purchase of 25 acres in Jhagadia, Gujarat, India, in March. It will then build a plant to manufacture resins for the composites and metal casting consumables industries.
"The ...site will allow us to accommodate our expansion efforts as we serve our customers in India and elsewhere in the world," said Mike Swartzlander, vice president and managing director for Ashland India Private Limited, a company subsidiary based in Mumbai.
Ashland, headquartered in Covington, is a chemical and materials services company.
