Mosaic Expands Capacity for Potash at Saskatchewan Operations
PLYMOUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Potash maker Mosaic Co. said Friday it plans to expand capacity at its operations in Saskatchewan, Canada, to meet increased demand for the fertilizer.
The company did not specify the extent of the capacity increase, saying only that the move, along with similar expansions last May, will increase by about half its output to 15.5 million metric tons.
"We believe the global demand and supply fundamentals support this growth in our capacity," Chief Executive Jim Prokopanko said in a statement.
