Petrobras May Build 600,000-b/d Refinery In Maranhao

Petrobras announced Monday that it, along with the government of Maranhao state in northeastern Brazil, will study the possibility of building a premium refinery with a 600,000-b/d capacity. The refinery's first operational phase is scheduled to start in 2013.
Petrobras and the state's government will study the terms of a memorandum of understanding to be signed within 120 days to establish the initial premises for the parts' performance in project implementation.
