Flint Hills Names Plant Manager for Joliet, Peru Chemical Ops

Flint Hills Resources on Friday introduced Edward McKinley as plant manager for its Joliet (Channahon) and Peru chemical operations.
As plant manager, McKinley is responsible for overseeing and managing all operations for the Joliet and Peru plants. He comes to Flint Hills Resources with more than 25 years of experience in chemical plant operations. Most recently, he was site director at Celanese Corporation at the company's chemicals and polymer plant in Bishop, Texas. While at Celanese, McKinley also had the opportunity to serve as plant manager for its Shelby, N.C., Winona, Minn., and Suzano, Brazil, plants. Prior to his time at Celanese, McKinley filled a number of roles at PolyOne Corporation, including plant manager and a number of manufacturing positions.

"He brings with him a wealth of operational and management experience, and I am confident he will provide excellent leadership for our Joliet and Peru facilities."
McKinley earned a master's degree in management from the University of Houston and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.
McKinley assumed his new position with Flint Hills Resources on Aug. 29 following the promotion of Mark Condon, the previous plant manager, to a new company-wide role
The Flint Hills Resources Joliet plant is a leading producer of chemical intermediates, including purified isophthalic acid, maleic anhydride and trimellitic anhydride. The company's Peru plant produces expandable polystyrene. Flint Hills Resources' two Illinois facilities together employ more than 300 area residents.
