RALEIGH, N.C. and PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The 50-foot- tall Bayer Advanced(TM) float, Jack and the Rose Stalk, has been chosen as the lead float in the 2006 Rose Parade® on Monday, January 2, 2006. It's also the first float in Rose Parade history to debut the All-America Rose Selections.

"We've been honored to have won an award in the Rose Parade every year since we first entered it in 2001," says Bayer Advanced Marketing VP Mark Schneid. "But we're most excited about our Jack and the Rose Stalk float because it's unique -- our own magical interpretation of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale, but with roses."

In the fairy tale, Jack traded his cow for magic beans. The beans grew a beanstalk into the sky and the home of a giant. Bayer Advanced, part of the Bayer Corporation, makes some of the most effective rose care products for today's home gardeners, products that provide magical results and tremendous growth for roses and other flowers -- just like the beans Jack had in the classic fairy tale. Bayer Advanced is the exclusive rose care products of the Tournament of Roses®.

Tournament of Roses President Libby Evans Wright personally selected Bayer Advanced Jack and the Rose Stalk to be the lead float in the parade. "It's a spectacular representation of the 2006 Rose Parade theme -- 'It's Magical,'" says Wright.
