FRANKFURT, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Dow Chemical is interested in the construction chemicals business being sold by Germany's Degussa, a newspaper reported in a preview of an article to be published on Wednesday.
German daily Financial Times Deutschland said the U.S. firm had registered its interest, citing sources familiar with the transaction. Chemicals giant BASF has already said it was keen on buying the business, which analysts estimate could have a price tag of around 1.8 billion euros ($2.2 billion).
BASF has said its board had proposed exclusive negotiations to Degussa and that it planned to make a concrete offer once a detailed review was complete. Source: Reuters
