COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc. announced today that it will donate $500,000 to the Children's Hospital capital campaign to support the hospital's development of new facilities. The donation, to be paid over 5 years, is part of Hexion's overall effort to support organizations in central Ohio that serve youth in need.
"Children's Hospital is rapidly becoming the nation's premier hospital for children and is a tremendous asset to our community," said Craig O. Morrison, Chairman and CEO of Hexion. "We are pleased to be able to support this fine organization on behalf of our associates and the children who benefit from the expert care it provides."
Hexion has long been a strong supporter of Children's Hospital, Morrison said. "For more than 25 years, dating back to when Hexion was known as Borden and later Borden Chemical, we have had a mutually beneficial relationship with Children's. Our associates have served as volunteers and the company has sponsored events and provided ongoing financial support. This contribution is the latest installment in our investment in Children's," he added.
Hexion's corporate giving program primarily targets organizations that serve youth, disadvantaged youth and homeless families. The company's world headquarters are located in the Continental Plaza Building, 180 E. Broad Street.
