Solvay's SolVin to expand PVDC output in France

BRUSSELS, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Belgium's Solvay said on Monday its SolVin joint venture with Germany's BASF would build a new production line for polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) latex at its site in Tavaux, France.
The new production line will add an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes and is expected to be operational by mid-2009. PVDC latex is used as a coating in packaging for food and in the pharmaceutical sector.
