Description:

Purpose of the job: To propose, design, implement, and evaluate fermentation related process improvements to the manufacturing process in support of pilot plant activities, initial commercial plant development and subsequent capital investment and technology transfer.
Analyze/implement process changes to minimize safety incidents. Promote process changes to maximize the health of employees. Improve process to minimize hazardous substance releases. Analyze/implement process changes to prevent the damage of equipment. Improve design of process to minimize “downtime” Improve process design to maximize yield. Evaluate process to lower energy consumption. Improve process to minimize cost of raw materials. Improve process to optimize labor requirements. Devise and implement experiments to verify process dynamics. Educate and train employees on process control procedures. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a top level contributor and/or specialist. |
Requirements:
|
A degree in Chemical Engineering, with graduate degree preferred, and 5+ years of experience with pilot plant, commercial fermentation processes, and process design. Quantitative process modeling. Broad knowledge of chemical and biological sciences. Strong background in process design principles. |
