Description:

The Control Systems and Instrumentation Project Engineer is part of the facility''s Project Engineering group. The Project Engineering group is responsible scoping, estimating, design, and implementation of capital projects at the facility. Overall responsibilities include:
Design of process control systems including instrumentation for specialty chemical manufacturing.
Implementing any capital or support activities on schedule and in a cost effective manner.
Manage multiple projects and activities while prioritizing the work consistent with plant and corporate objectives.
Lead projects or provide assistance to other project leads & engineers.
Participate and lead project scoping meetings to develop process, control system, and instrument design requirements. Project lead must consider both the project objectives and longer term needs of the facility.
Document scope and develop project cost estimate.
Management and coordination of internal and external control system and instrumentation design resources.
Facilitate project design work; instrument drawings, instrumentation sizing and selection, define control strategies, and operator interface to control system (graphics).
Specify and procure instrumentation and control system equipment.
Develop and facilitate construction activities, system acceptance tests, and instrument commissioning.
Work with operations to develop start up plans. |
Requirements:
|
A degree in Chemical Engineering and at least four years of project control system and instrumentation experience in a chemical manufacturing facility. Ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems. Experience with the following process control systems: Emerson DeltaV, and/or Siemens APACS. Experience with Fieldbus networks such as Foundation Fieldbus, ASi, and DeviceNet also desired, as is awareness of OSHA, NFPA and other governing bodies and design to their standards where applicable. |
