Description:

Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product and intermediates on all operating shifts by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsible for day-to-day management of the Production Department. Will manage about 30 employees indirectly and will directly supervise: (3 supervisors, 1 engineer and 1 chemist). Manage three subordinate shift supervisors who supervise all production operators. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Work closely with QA and Analytical/R&D Chemist to ensure quality processing. Checks all Batch Records before a process starts to ensure they are the most current. Makes vessel and other changes and adjusts Batch scale as needed. Reviews Batch Records after a process is complete to check that it was completed correctly and to make changes to improve the process for the next campaign. |
Requirements:
|
A degree in Chemical Engineering or related and 8 plus years experience as a Production Manager with BATCH processing. Experience with Specialty Chemicals, Fine Chemicals and organic chemical synthesis is ideal. |
