Description:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for supporting daily operations, with focus on cost reductions, yield improvements and process improvements. Will mentor and train production operators, work to improve production capacity and troubleshoot existing plant problems. Will be responsible for logistical planning including procurement of raw materials, production scheduling, and monitoring an inventory of 300,000+ lbs. of chemicals. Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for general plant operations. Work with the engineering and maintenance departments to facilitate plant maintenance and troubleshooting in order to decrease downtime and improve productivity. Unit operations consist of: crystallization, drying technologies, heat transfer, batch and continuous, material handling etc. Production Engineer will be working hands-on with equipment and operators, so must have desire and passion for chemical manufacturing/operations work. |
Requirements:
|
A degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years experience in the chemical process industry supporting production operations. Demonstrated skills with solids and bulk handling are preferred, including crystallization, drying, agglomeration and/or conveying systems. Good verbal and written communication skills, a functional team orientation and strong organizational skills are required.
