Description:

The Plant Engineer is responsible for the inspection and integrity of over 300 pieces of equipment in the assigned unit. Main pieces of equipment consist of vessels, exchangers, pumps, and PSVs. The Plant Engineer is also responsible for tracking costs and assuring adherence to the set budget. The maintenance budget varies by unit from $2MM to $4MM annually and the capital budget ranges up to $2MM per year.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTING ACTIVITIES
Monitor daily unit performance; assist in troubleshooting of problems and identify improvement opportunities (safety, quality, productivity). Provide process designs to plant engineering for project work. Provide technical assistance to Plant Engineering; both mechanical and PCS. Increase unit productivity through troubleshooting of process problems – both short and long term. Work with operations on all aspects of improvement of existing and development of new processes. Coordinate the activities of the group that pertain to the upkeep of the operating units. Work with production and other groups on all aspects of capital planning and development of new processes. |
Requirements:
|
A degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of chemical, petrochemical, polymer or elastomer industry experience. Must be able to work effectively on teams, communicate clearly to all levels of the organization, work multiple tasks concurrently, and provide leadership in areas of safety, operations and engineering. |
