OVERVIEW: The Process Engineer is responsible for administering all process/project engineering functions at the plant. Work directly with operations as well with the plant teams on other functions as required.

Provide project management for the basic engineering, detailed design, procurement, and construction of capital investment projects, including maintenance and process design for smaller projects.
Evaluate various design and cost alternatives, correcting P&IDs, developing equipment specifications, preparing project safety and technical review information, and other basic engineering documents.
Participate/lead PHA reviews, EH&S safety reviews, PSM/RMP audits, Responsible Care® audits, and incident investigations with root cause analysis (RCA).
Oversee and administer the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program, including recordkeeping, inspection scheduling, coordinating through planning/scheduling, and track discrepancies to completion.
Troubleshoot process and equipment operability issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to operators, maintenance, and quality control to support production requirements.
Manage and execute process improvements and new product introductions into production.
Coordinate activities associated with all plant permits such as line break, management of change, hot work, confined space, hazardous energy control, and other safety associated programs.
Process SAP functional location additions/changes/deletions.
Monitor all aspects of production to identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations to support continuous improvement with safety performance, regulatory compliance, quality, efficiency, throughput, equipment reliability, waste reduction, and operating cost considered.

Drive to completion improvements based upon sound engineering concepts using data collection, team observations, and proven techniques.
Balance plant needs and corporate objectives on cost and performance; provide value-added solutions to problems.
Support team efforts and lead teams as needed whether in training or a continual improvement initiative.
Use analytical methods to define a problem prior to searching for possible solutions and arrive at the best solution for the site and its personnel; seek best-practice results.
Work with a wide variety of plant disciplines with an ability to coach as well as to deliver high level presentations to management.
Possess technical knowledge of process engineering and project management.

Degree in Engineering and experience in chemical plant operations with knowledge of related equipment, EHS programs, root cause analysis, managing capital projects, and conducting PHAs.
Knowledge of the principles of reliability-based engineering.
Knowledge of the fundamentals behind a Plan > Do > Check > Adjust basis of management.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of PSM/RMP would be advantageous.
Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
