SUMMARY: Manages production operations within a production department on multiple shifts, or across several departments on a single shift, to assure cost effective, timely manufacture of quality products. Responsible for ensuring that a sound strategic production plan is developed and executed which supports company short term and long term goals and objectives.

Prepares strategic plans for their area that supports Operations Department's goals.
Integrates production operation or processes, or related processes over multiple shifts.
Responsible for budgeting and ensuring that the operating unit has adequate resources in facilities, equipment, and personnel to produce to customer demands.
Establishes short-term activities directed toward production continuity and balance, such as ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.
Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates the production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
Recommends improvements in production flow or methods.
Make sure that the EH&S objectives, plans and requirements are communicated and understood in the organization the jobholder is responsible for.
Ensures that all operations in his Area are fully compliant with Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations as dictated by DHEC, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
Responsible for directing all aspects of the group by ensuring preparation of performance plans, job descriptions, conducting performance reviews and providing continual feedback on performance.

Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Solid background in manufacturing with experience in manufacturing management, a thorough knowledge of regulations concerning material standards, safety, and control, and good communications skills.
Practical knowledge concerning design and operation of common process equipment such as pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, piping, etc.
Desire to lead multiple operating units on a day to day basis by establishing clear vision and goals.
Proven record of leading engineers and interacting with management, other operations personnel, maintenance groups, etc.
