POSITION SUMMARY: The objective of this position is to drive performance process improvements in safety management, plant reliability, and reduce costs through the implementation of reliability standards. This position interacts directly with the maintenance technicians, external maintenance, and service suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Lead plant reliability improvement initiatives, which focus on eliminating significant and recurring reliability issues.
Provide root cause analysis methodology, champion the use of reliability maintenance to ensure the optimal maintenance practices are applied.
Ensure mechanical integrity requirements under OSHA’s Process Safety Management are met.
Use reliability concepts/ tools to perform reliability assessment of plant assets and develop action plans to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Provide support to achieve reliability costs and performance goals.
Lead efforts to optimize spare parts to achieve optimal reliability at the lowest cost.
Apply/ sustain/ improve reliability standard operating procedures. Optimize stated best practices to achieve lowest long-term cost of ownership.
Apply lean fundamentals to equipment reliability and conduct mechanical reliability audits and reviews.
Review new and repaired equipment designs and develop reliability requirements.
Facilitate and coordinate the execution of capital projects for the site, coordinate outside contract resources, prepare/review engineering/contractor bid packages.
Review and approve technical decisions and project estimates.
Coordinate construction, safety activities, prepare process and instrument diagrams and participate in hazard analysis.
Write specifications for pressure vessels, storage tanks, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, etc.
Prepare preventive maintenance plans per the reliability standards. Review and comment on vendor equipment drawings.
Works under general direction from project manager for performing detailed reliability studies.

REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Engineering with experience at a chemical manufacturing plant.
Experience with preventative/predictive maintenance tools / focus on improving the mechanical reliability of plant assets.
Must have strong technical, troubleshooting, analysis skills, and lean concept knowledge to plan and execute technological improvements.
Project experience.
