OVERVIEW: The Engineering Manager will be responsible for development, and implementation of new process technologies for the plant while continually seeking ways to improve operating yield and enhancing efficiency of existing operations. Interact and collaborate with sites around the world to leverage our global footprint in manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive continuous improvement.
Improve plant productivity each year by an agreed and recorded percentage recorded in AN tracker.
Use standardized methodologies for problem solving and improvement projects (e.g. L6σ, RCPS).
Implement, maintain and stimulate visual performance management e.g. by Gemba Walks.
Use and review KPI’s for performance management.
Product right the first time.
Own troubleshoot ISO program and auditing.
Responsible for introduction/elimination of new products (PI&C) according to regulations (includes chemical reviews, safety reviews etc.).
Responsible for quality control of the existing product portfolio. Delivery OTIF – how many shipments were missed from a quality standpoint.
Manage the investment project portfolio for the plant.
Ensure that long term plans are in place and communicated.
Provide expert know-how and input to the scoping and basic engineering of capital projects.
Act as project owner representative and process engineer in capital projects.
Create a capable organization where people perceive their workplace as a great place to work, meaning, and set direction by having a clear communication structure in place.
Walk and talk the company values.
Maintain a competence management system resulting in required competencies, training programs, hiring policy and succession planning.
Drive talent management.
Set individual targets and agree upon development plans as a result of performance dialogs.
Drive a high engaged culture ensure proper staffing, (functionally) lead, coach, appraise and develop staff as appropriate.
Ensure that a cost budget for the Technology department is set up and achieved (take measures if targets not reached).
Mutual responsibility with other people in the management team to reach the targets for the site.
REPORTS TO: Site Director.
DIRECT REPORTS: Technology Engineer (1), QC Lab Supervisor (1).
INDIRECT REPORTS: 11 lab employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Chemical Engineering; Chemistry; Manufacturing Technology degree.
Create a shared operational/technical management vision.
Excellent leadership skills and communication skills.
Experience in P&L management/technology leadership experience in managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
Knowledge about the products, chemistry, and processes in the plant.
Deep experience in Lean 6 Sigma.
SAP knowledge and review PIE and SAP you manage the plant from a quality standpoint.
Statistics monthly report a strong background is huge.
Support marketing with tools and competencies to manage and grow the business.
