MAINTENANCE MANAGER

DUTIES:
Manage the site maintenance, mechanical integrity, and reliability processes through the use of RAGAGEP procedures and methods for all site assets in this PSM-covered facility.
Lead and develop department personnel including engineers, supervisors, craft persons, and contractors.
Implement procedures and policies for employee and job safety and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements such as OSHA PSM, EPA, RMP, as well as standards and codes such as American Petroleum Institute (API), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Electric Code (NEC), etc.
Develop and implement procedures, documents, and systems for maintenance activities.
Maintain and develop plant engineering standards.
Work with contractors including selection, providing direction, and verification of work efficiency
Actively participate in the facility quality initiatives including tracking / reporting of maintenance KPI’s, development and upkeep of maintenance specific quality elements, job audits, internal quality audits, and supplier quality management. Ensure quality of incoming materials and supplies through the various quality control procedures.
Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including work order flows and master data. Manage the work order process including organizing, coordinating, planning, kitting, scheduling, execution, review, and close out.
Ensure jobs are estimated, planned, and scheduled properly and communicate plans through published work schedules, charts, etc. This includes routine jobs, turnarounds, and projects.
Responsible for physical plant upkeep including production assets, fixed fire protection assets, buildings, and grounds. Oversee stores inventory and toolroom and maintain spare parts for the facility. Ensure receipt and verification process for incoming parts and materials.
Work with management to develop and implement budgets and capital plans.
Understanding of capital requirements including identification and development of a working model for a facilities and maintenance 3–5-year capital expenditure plan that supports both current production and forecasted growth.
Ability and willingness to work in a variety of conditions (field, warehouses, and process areas). Ability to work weekends and/or holidays as may be required to ensure the plant is properly maintained. Repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting (minimal requirement 60 lbs.)
REPORTS: Reports to the Plant Manager. Reporting to this person will be over 30 people to include 22 employees and 20-25 contract employees. They have 2 engineers, production coordinator, 2 millwrights, 2 HVAC techs, 1 Rotating Equipment Supv, 1 I&E Supv, 4 Instrument Techs, 1 Mech Lead, Pipefitter, 3 Boiler Makers, Planner, Inspectors, Electricians.
REQUIREMENTS:
A technical Bachelor Degree is required (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
Chemical Plant Maintenance experience required including supervision of engineering and maintenance personnel.
Five years of Maintenance Department Supervision experience required.
The working knowledge of chemical plant operations and maintenance is important. Direct experience with PSM/RMP covered processes is required.
Advanced experience in service contracting high quality outside services, contract negotiations and management.
A demonstrated record of achieving cost efficiency.
Extensive Mechanical Integrity & Reliability Based Maintenance experience.
SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Demonstrated history of critical thinking and problem solving
MS Office Suite applications.
Enterprise resource planning / computerized maintenance management system platforms
(SAP, Oracle, Chempax, Maximo, etc.)
Experience with reading prints, schematics, drawings and repair manuals.
Working knowledge of pipe-fitting, welding, millwright and related skills in order to assess
proficiency of contractors and in-house maintenance crew.
Ability to collaborate with cross functional maintenance teams from multiple sites as part of
continual improvement
Working knowledge of API, ASME and other related standards.
